Honda inaugurates 800th dealer in India

It is not a new notion that the two-wheeler industry in India has been growing at a near-exponential rate over the past few years. With all the manufacturers expanding rapidly, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) is among the top players in the country as well. The Indian wing of the Japanese manufacturer crossed its four lakh sales milestone recently, while it also recorded its highest ever sales of 4,38,521 units in the month of September.

Now, Honda has also announced the opening of a new dealership in the state of Karnataka. This is the 800th dealership for the manufacturer, and it is in line with their '4S' (Sales, Service, Spares, Safety) facilities. Speaking after the announcement, Mr. Y. S Guleria, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, HMSI said, “At Honda, reaching closer to our customers has always been our top priority and we have been relentlessly following our ambitious targets for expansion in line with our product portfolio expansion. Today, we are delighted to announce the opening of Honda’s 800th 4S Dealer facility and welcome our new business partner to the Honda family. Through diligent network expansion we wish to cover the vast Indian landscape and thus, deliver our world class products & services to our valued customers closer to their place.”

This is in line with HMSI consistently expanding its operations aggressively, and it recently laid the foundation stone for its fourth plant in Vithalapur near Ahemdabad in Gujarat. This plant with a capacity of 1.2 million units has raised the overall capacity for the manufacturer to 5.8 million units.
