The Alto-800 may have only been in the market since October 2012, but Maruti is already working on a facelift. What's clear is that the new design won't be anything as dull as the current car. Suzuki has been criticised for its bland and safe designs in the past, but all that seems to have changed.
This new design clearly looks more grown up under all the camouflage. The wrap around headlights are placed wide, the new chrome grille seems well integrated between the headlights and the larger 'V' shaped air inlet under the bumper looks more current too. A new wider bonnet completes this more grown up look. Also visible on the camouflaged cars are Celerio like door mirrors, a larger set of wheels and a new set of tail-lights.

What's not clear however is how different the insides are likely to be. More supportive seats and better quality plastics would be a welcome change and customers would love some additional equipment too. One thing's for sure however, Maruti isn't resting on its laurels as far its bestseller is concerned.
Getting the look of a car right is vital, even at this end of the market, and Maruti are keen to do just that. Not outrageous and over the top like the Hyundai Eon or boring like the Alto-800, this major facelift could be just what the doctor ordered: we certainly think so.
