Maruti Baleno gets second price hike since launch

Following the government’s announcement of the addition of new taxes in the automotive sector, many automakers have announced a hike in prices of their offerings to shift the impact of the new taxes onto customers. Maruti Suzuki is among those to raise prices across board except for the Ciaz and Ertiga SHVS.

This means the Baleno has received its second consecutive price hike since launch with the prices of the model now starting at Rs 5.15 lakh as against its launch price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The hike in prices across the Baleno model range varies between Rs 4,263 and Rs 16,699, depending on the variant in question. Earlier in the year, Maruti had hiked prices of all its models save for the Baleno and S-Cross by up to Rs 4,000. The prices for the S-Cross had been slashed by up to Rs 2.05 lakh while the Baleno’s prices had witnessed a more significant hike of up to Rs 12,000.
