Maruti has launched an upgraded version of the A-star. Although the hatch has been on sale for three years now, it hasn’t been able to top the sales chart.

To make it more appealing to the buyers, Maruti has now given it an upgrade and it’s the cabin where the most amount of attention has been paid. The interiors are now beige in colour, giving it a more cheerful look, although the design remains the same. The seat fabric is beige too and the rear seats now split 50:50, further improving the A-star’s practicality.

Front seat backs are now more curved to increase the leg room at the rear, an area where the A-star had been lacking. The car remains the same on the outside except for the addition of a roof mounted spoiler. There have been no changes in the engine department.

Speaking on the occasion, Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager, Marketing said, “A-star is one of the most vibrant brands in our portfolio. The smart modifications in the spiced-up A-star are in line with customer feedback and seek to enhance the overall look, feel and comfort of the buyers."

The retail sales of the new refreshed A-star will begin from January 27th, 2012.
