Following teaser pictures released last month of its three concept vehicles, Mitsubishi has revealed the pictures of the two SUVs and the MPV, all of which will be unveiled at this month’s Tokyo motor show.
The first concept, dubbed GC-PHEV, is a plug-in hybrid SUV. The car will use Mitsubishi's electronic all-wheel drive system, named Super All-Wheel Control, to deliver what the company describes as "superior handling, stability as well as the all-terrain capability an SUV offers". The vehicle adopts a plug-in hybrid arrangement with a 3.0-litre V6 supercharged engine working with an electric motor, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The second concept, named XR-PHEV, is a compact plug-in hybrid SUV which is focused around nimble drivability and coupé styling. It will be powered by a direct-injection 1.1-litre turbocharged engine coupled to a high-capacity electric motor.
Finally, Mitsubishi will also reveal a new MPV in the form of the Concept AR. It uses the same hybrid powertrain as the XR-PHEV.
