New Toyota Land Cruiser Prado launched at Rs 84.87 lakh

Toyota has launched the new Land Cruiser Prado in India at a price of Rs 84.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The car gets a new front grille, bumper, fog lamps and head lamps, a new rear license plate garnish, and LED headlamps and daytime running lamps.

On the inside, what’s new is what Toyota calls ‘Crawl Control’, which is essentially a system that makes accelerator and brake usage unnecessary when driving over off-road terrain or on slippery surfaces. There’s also Multi-Terrain Select (which allows you to toggle between various modes like Rock, Rock and Dirt, Loose Rock and Mud and Sand), Multi-Terrain Monitor (to provide a better view of the surroundings), a 7-inch screen, a seat heater for the second row and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

In terms of mechanicals, it gets the same 3.0-litre D4D engine that puts out 170bhp and 41.8kgm of torque.

The new Prado comes in five colours, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic and Black, along with two interior colours, Flaxen and Black.

Sharing his thoughts on this occasion, Sandeep Singh, DMD and COO, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “Ever since Prado’s launch in India in 2004, customer response to the Prado's legendary quality, durability and reliability has been very good and we would like to thank our customers for this appreciation. Owing to its Land Cruiser heritage, the Prado has earned its name as an all terrain luxury SUV and appeals not only to SUV buyers but also to buyers of other luxury car segments alike. A perfect combination of manoeuvrability and interior luxury, we are certain that the Indian customers will experience superior comfort and luxury while driving the New Prado”.
