The 2015 Dodge Charger, shown at the New York motor show, has received a significant set of revisions, with the majority of body panels replaced and a new interior.
LED lighting has been added front and back and the cabin features a customisable TFT digital gauge cluster and revised centre stack with touchscreen infotainment systems.
The basic setup of the Charger is classic front engine, rear-wheel drive. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. Buyers have the choice of a 3.6-litre V6 or 5.7-litre V8. All-wheel drive is optional with the V6 engine. The V8 develops 370bhp while the V6 puts out 292bhp, or 300bhp with the optional Rallye Appearance Group.
The Charger R/T (Road and Track) features a V8 engine, a shorter final drive and a recalibrated computer with specific engine and transmission settings. Dodge claims a 0-100kph time in the high 5.0sec range.
The updated Chrysler LX platform includes new electric power steering and lighter axles. The all-wheel drive system features an active transfer case with a front-axle disconnect system, which improves fuel economy.
Like the Challenger, a large pallet of colours can be had both inside and out the Charger. Six different 20-inch wheel designs are available, too.
