Porsche Macan 2.0 petrol bookings open

Porsche has added a 2.0-litre petrol motor to the India-spec Macan SUV line-up. The Macan 2.0 petrol is priced at Rs 76.16 lakh (ex-showroom). Dealers have begun taking bookings for the Macan 2.0 petrol and a booking amount is set at Rs 10 lakh. Porsche will start delivering the SUV later this year.

The Macan’s 2.0 petrol engine churns out 252hp at 5,000-6,000rpm and a peak torque rating of 370Nm at 1,600-4,500rpm. As with other Macan variants, it comes with an all-wheel-drive layout and Porsche’s seven-speed PDK auto gearbox. It has a claimed 0-100kph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and top speed of 229kph.

The 2.0-litre petrol Macan in India sits below the two variants that were already on sale – the 244hp Macan S diesel and the 400hp Macan Turbo petrol.

The Macan 2.0 petrol does not have any direct rivals. Those willing to shell out the expected amount can instead go for the larger seven-seater Discovery Sport, the Mercedes GLE-class or the BMW X5. However, these SUVs only come with diesel engines and are unlikely to be as sporty and agile as the Macan.
