I own a 2013 Maruti Suzuki WagonR which is experiencing engine vibrations at idle. What should I do?

AAA The WagonR 1.0-litre four-cylinder engine is quite smooth, so having prominent vibrations implies that something is not right. If the vibrations are pronounced only when the car is stationary then it is most likely an electrical issue. Have the spark plugs inspected and replaced. Never replace one spark plug at a time but do the entire set. Also have the injectors inspected and cleaned if required – a clogged injector may result in uneven fuel flow and thus uneven pulsing. Check if the fuel pump is in good shape and that the fuel tank does not have a significant amount of debris. If all these checks don’t give an improvement then it is possible that one of the cylinders is not in good shape. So we would suggest having a leak-down test carried out at your authorised service station. It will let you know if one of the cylinders is losing compression and subsequently take preventive steps, which may range from a replacement of the piston rings to a full engine overhaul.
