Opting for a diesel compact SUV like the Kia Sonet from a premium hatchback can be a logical upgrade.
Frugal replacement
I own a Volkswagen Polo 1.5 TDI and drive 15,000km per year, with a majority of it being on the highway. Which vehicle would be the right replacement for it? Safety, vehicle dynamics, low-end torque and fuel efficiency are my top priorities.

Sadly, there is no replacement for the solid, frugal and powerful 1.5 TDI Polo. The best option, according to us, is the Kia Sonet diesel, which has a strong 1.5-litre engine too and is mated to a smooth 6-speed auto box. It is a logical upgrade as it has similar dimensions but a lot more features. The Sonet diesel is also a very good highway car.
