Choosing between the Maruti XL6 and 4th-gen Honda City comes down to personal priorities. Here's what we'd recommend.
Matters of the mind
I have a family of six, and I am keen on buying the Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha, which has just been launched, and would set me back by around Rs 15.3 lakh, on-road. My second option is to go for a fourth-gen Honda City again (I have owned one earlier and was very happy with it), which I will get for Rs 11.8 lakh, on-road. So, I am confused if investing the extra Rs 3.5 lakh is worth it!

Both are very different cars, so it depends on what your priorities are. The City is the one to go for if you are driving yourself and don’t need a third row of seats. The infotainment in the fourth-gen City is now dated, but it still drives very well. The XL6 is the more practical choice, and overall, a more comfortable car, but it is quite dull to drive, especially the new 6-speed auto, which feels particularly sluggish.
