My husband and I are considering buying a new petrol automatic car mainly for driving in the city, and our budget is Rs 20 lakh-22 lakh. I want nice interiors, while my husband wants a powerful car. We don’t have kids, so back seat comfort does not matter. Between the MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700, which would you recommend?

Autocar India says: The XUV700 is the one to go for as it has a strong 200hp petrol engine allied to a smooth automatic which makes city driving easy, and your husband will have all the power he needs. The MG Hector’s strengths are its soft road and comfy back seat, which aren’t a priority for you. The Hector has a smooth 1.5-litre petrol, but it’s nowhere near as punchy as the XUV700’s.
