We own a 2009 Hyundai i10 Asta automatic, which is the third car in the family. It is driven by my wife as well as the chauffeur to transport my kids and parents, and it has served us well. Now, I want to replace it with an SUV-type vehicle that's equally as good but is much better in terms of comfort and safety. I'd like to cap my budget at Rs 10 lakh, on-road. Which automatic car should I go for?

Autocar India says: The Hyundai Exter might just be your best bet. It is very smooth and easy to drive, low-speed ride quality is good, and its safety features like six airbags and ESP, among others, are also quite reassuring. Do keep in mind that its backseat is relatively low-set, so getting in and out for your parents might not be as easy as some other SUV-like offerings in its segment. That aside, it does the job rather well. Other cars that you could consider (in no particular order) are the Maruti Fronx AMT, Tata Punch AMT, Nissan Magnite Turbo CVT and Renault Kiger CVT.
