I own a Maruti Swift Dzire and travel around 40km a day. Occasionally, I travel to Kota, which is around 90km from my town. I am planning to buy a new car. Should I go for an EV?

Autocar India says: Don’t only look at your daily mileage and equate an EV only with running costs. EVs are the best city commuters. Besides resulting in huge savings as you don’t have to fill fuel, they are incredibly easy and relaxing to drive. However, it’s important to have a home charger as the public charging network isn’t yet fully developed, making EVs inconvenient to charge. So, go for an EV with a real-world range of at least 250km, which will easily cover your 180km round trip with some charge to spare.
