I've been a proud owner of a Royal Enfield classic 350 BS3 for almost 9 years and now I'm confused whether to upgrade or use the same bike for long tours. I’m looking for something in the adventure category only like KTM 390 Adventure full feature pack. Should I wait for the new KTM 390 Adventure which has launched with spoke wheel and adjustable suspension or continue using the same Classic 350 or should I look at any other lightweight ADV under 650cc.

Autocar India says: Nine years is a long time and you would do well to upgrade to a new machine. Since you seem to be interested in an ADV bike that can take on long rides, the KTM 390 Adventure is currently one of the best options in the sub 4 lakh rupee segment. The spoked wheel variant you mentioned is now available in India and it comes with the advantage of adjustable suspension, which we found to be noticeably nicer than the standard non-adjustable suspension on the 390 ADV. You can read about that here.
There’s also a new lower-spec 390 ADV-X that sacrifices some features like traction control, the TFT display and quickshifter, but comes for Rs 65,000 less. If you prefer your bikes without too many frills, this could make sense for you and you can read about it here. Finally, if you’re looking for a good ADV tourer on a sub Rs 2.5 lakh budget, the Suzuki V-Strom SX is hard to beat.
However, since you are considering a new motorcycle after nearly a decade, we’d also recommend you wait just a bit more for the new Harley-Davidson X440 and the Bajaj-Triumph 400s - both will be launched in early July. The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will also be worth waiting for.
