Which Bajaj Chetak variant to buy?

I’m quite keen on getting the Bajaj Chetak as a daily runabout, but I’m confused about which variant to get. Can you guide me through the selection process?

Autocar India says: You’re not alone – the Chetak lineup has been constantly tweaked and reworked over the years, and the odd nomenclature doesn’t help either. There are 3 variants on offer: 2903 (base variant), 3202 (mid variant) and 3201 (top variant).

The 2903, being the base variant, comes with a smaller 2.9kWh battery pack, a 63kph top speed, a front drum brake, and an LCD display. It also gets slower charging, with a 0-80 percent top-up requiring 4 hours.

Moving up to the 3202, the mid variant, you get a larger 3.2kWh battery pack, and while the standard 63kph top speed remains, this can be bumped up to 73kph by purchasing the optional extra TecPac. Charging is also slightly quicker on this version, with 0-80 percent taking 3hr35mins. However, you still get a front drum brake and LCD display.

To improve on those fronts, you’ll need to get the top variant, the 3201. It gets the same 3.2kWh battery pack as the 3202, but throws in a front disc brake as well as a fancier TFT dash. As a result, it also features different switchgear for the extra functionality. The higher 73kph top speed is standard on this version, as is the faster charging rate.
