I am a 45-year old executive and I’m looking to buy my first electric scooter. After having read your exhaustive comparison test between Ola, Ather, iQube, and Chetak; I’ve narrowed down the choice between the TVS and the Bajaj. I need space, comfort, practicality, and the ability to accommodate a pillion, as my wife will be travelling to work with me on most occasions. Which one do I put my money on?

Autocar India says: The iQube and the Chetak are both quite competent, family-oriented electric scooters that are made by established two-wheeler manufacturers. If you are looking for a stylish scooter, the Chetak is hands down more aesthetic. It is also available in a broad palette of colour options. The space, comfort, and handling are decent as well but where it falls short is pillion comfort, top speed, and range. These are areas where the TVS iQube trumps the Bajaj. By all means, the iQube is the most refined, comfortable, and cost-effective electric scooter in the market and it is the one we’d recommend for your needs. Also, if budget isn’t a constraint and if you can wait, TVS will launch the iQube ST soon. It has a bigger battery and consequently better range, a bigger boot, and a touchscreen instrument panel. On the other hand, the Bajaj Chetak’s existing premium variant has become slightly cheaper and is now priced at Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while a new Premium variant has also been added and is priced at Rs 1.51 lakh.
