Is the Citroen C3 with the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine worth buying?

The cost of spares, servicing and resale value must also be considered before buying a Citroen that's still relatively new in the market.

I am planning to buy the naturally aspirated version of the Citroen C3, and I am pleased with the aesthetics and performance of the car. The features offered also suit my requirements, but I have a couple of questions. How are the spares cost and resale value of the car after 5 years? Also, is the car worth its price, if not, what are my alternatives?

Autocar India says: The C3 is actually a very nice car to drive and the naturally aspirated engine is pretty peppy too. It is fairly well-priced, but not great value as there are quite a few features missing – even basics like power adjustment for the mirrors is not available even as an option. We do not know the cost of the spares, but knowing Citroen, this is one area they won’t overcharge the customer. Their main focus is to build trust in these formative years, and offering an affordable and easy ownership experience is its top priority.

The resale value depends on many things, like the demand for a new car. At the moment, there is not much demand for the C3, so the resale value maybe weak. However, we expect sales to pick up next year with more dealerships. To sum up, go for the C3 if you really like it. You do have other options, but none are as refreshingly different as the Citroen. So if you don’t mind a bit of a spartan cabin, we suggest you go for it.
