Both SUVs have very different appeal, one being a hardcore off-roader while the other is quite urbane.

    Mahindra XUV700 vs Thar Roxx

I have a 2021 Tata Harrier XZA Plus that I’m planning to sell. I want a diesel automatic and I am confused between the Mahindra XUV700 AX7 and a Thar Roxx AX7L. My commute will mainly be within the city with occasional highway drives to the hills. The only off-roading I’d do is traversing our famed Indian city and highway roads. My priorities are ease of driving, comfort, reliability, and ride and handling. Also, I’m a 48-year-old banker, so would also want a car that would project a good image.

Autocar India says: The Thar Roxx is a hardcore off-roader, and though it’s spacious and well-equipped, it’s not as comfortable or as easy to live with as the XUV700. If you are not going to go off-roading, we suggest you go for the XUV700 as it has a smoother ride, is more spacious, and feels more agile. Also, do bear in mind that the Roxx is very tall, and getting in and out of it will not be convenient on a daily basis, especially for the elderly. However, the Roxx has a strong image and will certainly garner a lot of attention, which is what many Roxx owners want.
