The Fronx's launch is still some time away, but we expect the 1.2-litre NA variants to be priced under Rs 10 lakh.

I am looking for a stylish SUV under Rs 10 lakh, and have shortlisted the Renault Kiger. However, I feel the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx looks equally stylish. Which one would you recommend?

Autocar India says: The Fronx is yet to go on sale, with prices set to be announced by late March or early April. Maruti Suzuki offers the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine in three variants, and we expect them to be priced under Rs 10 lakh. The more powerful 100hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine on the Fronx comes in from the mid-spec trim onwards. With the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine being localised, it could also fall under Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), thereby, keeping costs in check.

The Fronx shares a lot with the tried and tested Baleno, and has a wider after sales footprint when compared to the Renault. The Kiger, on the other hand, is priced between Rs 6 lakh-9.32 lakh for variants powered by the 1.0 naturally aspirated engine, while the 1.0 turbo is priced between Rs 9.03 lakh-10.77 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

While we are yet to drive the Fronx, we think it’s a car worth waiting for before you sign on the dotted line.
