    BETTER BUILD QUALITY

I own a 2014 model Duster RXL. Due to strict norms in Delhi NCR, I can use my car only till 2024 and, hence, plan to change it. I am getting Rs 3.5 lakh for my car, and getting the Duster 1.3 turbo-petrol model for Rs 10 lakh after exchange. Is it advisable to go for the VW Taigun or Hyundai Creta instead? The former’s 1.0-litre engine and Highline model cost around Rs 15 lakh – roughly Rs 2 lakh more than the new Duster.

As a Duster owner you will appreciate its driving dynamics, especially over bad roads. So it would be logical to opt for the 1.3 turbo version. However, the VW Taigun and its sister the Skoda Kushaq offer a similar tough, well-planted feel on the road. They are overall better cars and worth spending the extra Rs 2 lakh on.

Also, the Duster is soon getting phased out so the resale value of the 1.3 turbo model is likely to drop when that happens.
