My budget is around Rs 45 lakh-50 lakh, and I am planning an upgrade from the Honda Civic. My main priorities are reliability, ease of driving, comfort and fuss-free ownership. Which is the most viable sedan in India, given the limited models available?

Autocar India says: You’re absolutely right. The sedan segment has significantly shrunk since you bought your Civic, leaving only a handful of options as a logical upgrade. Given your budget of Rs 45 lakh-50 lakh and the priorities of ease of driving, comfort and reliability, the Toyota Camry stands out as the best choice.

The all-new Camry is a substantial upgrade over the Civic. It’s larger, more spacious and far more comfortable, making it an excellent highway cruiser and a stress-free car in the city. Being a strong hybrid, it delivers excellent fuel efficiency and offers effortless performance, particularly in traffic, thanks to its smooth electric-assisted drive.

Moreover, Toyota’s reputation for reliability ensures a hassle-free ownership experience, with proven durability and low maintenance costs. Given the shrinking sedan market, the Camry remains the most well-rounded and future-proof choice in this price range.
