BYD has launched the eMax 7 electric MPV in India, which is essentially a heavily updated iteration of the e6 which it replaces. The eMax 7 is available in two variants, namely Premium and Superior. Let’s take a look at what features you get with each variant, and at what price.
While the Premium variant gets a 55.4kWh battery pack offering a 420km (NEDC) range, the Superior trim packs a 71.8kWh unit with 530km of range as per the NEDC cycle. The former makes 163hp, going from 0-100kph in 10.1 seconds, while the top-end variant produces 204hp, helping the MPV dash from 0-100kph in 8.6 seconds. Both offer the same 310Nm of peak torque. Moreover, both the Premium and Superior variants are available with a choice between 6- or a 7-seat configuration.
Premium (starting at Rs 26.9 lakh)
Superior (starting at Rs 29.3 lakh)

While the BYD eMax 7 has no direct rivals in India, it serves as an EV alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid (Rs 25.97 lakh-30.98 lakh) in the market.
