Along with the three trims, the MG Comet EV also gets four different styling packages and multiple sticker options. There’s also an MG Comet Gamer Edition with unique interior and exterior graphics. Prices for optional packages and stickers, however, are yet to be revealed.
The Comet EV comes with a 17.3kWh battery that's IP67-rated for water and dust resistance and gets an ARAI-certified range of 230km. MG is offering a 3.3kW onboard charger that takes seven hours to fully charge the battery. The Comet gets a single electric motor on the rear axle that develops 42hp and 110Nm of torque.
Thanks to its unique three-door hatchback body style, there is no direct rival to the Comet and the EV has a niche of its own. However, being an entry-level EV, it will see a comparison with the likes of the five-door, all-electric Tata Tiago EV (Rs 8.69 lakh-12.04 lakh) and the Citroen eC3 (Rs 11.50 lakh-12.43 lakh) hatchbacks.
