Follow us onHonda has just launched the third-generation Amaze in India with prices ranging between Rs 8.00 lakh and Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Amaze boasts an all-new exterior and interior design, borrowing heavily from the City and Elevate. It also sees a notable step up on the equipment from over its predecessor, and here, we are taking a close look at the variant-wise features list of the new Honda Amaze.
New Honda Amaze engine, gearbox and colours
The new Amaze is mechanically unchanged from its predecessor, so it continues with the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 90hp and 110Nm. The engine comes paired to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
The Amaze is available in three trims – V, VX and ZX – and both manual and automatic gearbox options are available on all three trims. Most carmakers do not offer an automatic gearbox option on the base trim, but Honda has gone one up here on rivals. Also, while all rivals only offer an AMT for the auto gearbox option, Honda is offering a much smoother and sophisticated CVT gearbox.
As for colours, there are six monotone shades to choose from: Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Lunar Silver Metallic. All colours are available on all trims of the Amaze.

The VX trim adds a few cosmetic updates and convenience features, and would be our pick of the range, offering the most value for your money. What’s nice is that the top-spec ZX trim additionally only adds an ADAS suite a few other minor cosmetic trims. So, if one does not find utility in an ADAS suite, one does not need to pay for it, and they still can have all other features the car has to offer.
