6GT is much better turned-out than its predecessor but still has its bulky angles. 6GT’s feature-rich, high-quality and modern-looking cabin is very inviting. Air inlets and outlets help reduce turbulence in front wheel arches. Louvres behind kidney grille open/close as per cooling requirements. Adaptive LED headlights with auto high beam control are standard. Rear spoiler rises automatically above 120kph, lowers under 80kph. Full LED tail-lights are beautifully sculpted with layered effect. 18-inch wheels look a size small. Ride height can be raised by 20mm. Spare occupies prime real estate in boot and eats into luggage capacity. The driving environment is very similar to what you’d get in a 5-series, but you do sit higher up in here. Front seats look rich and are multi-way adjustable but lumbar control is missed. Even six-footers can stretch out in the back of the 6GT. Backrest is reclinable. Digital instrument screen changes theme with each driving mode. Pictured here is Eco Pro mode. 6GT’s frameless windows are sure to grab attention on door opening. Futuristic display key a cool inclusion but there’s no remote parking. While they may look like tablets, the rear entertainment displays are not touchscreens. Like the Merc E-class, the 6GT also gets soft pillows for the rear-seat headrests. Great to doze off on. Panoramic sunroof is massive.
