New Honda City - The carmaker is betting big on the new fourth-generation saloon. It expects this fourth-gen saloon to eclipse the sales record of its predecessors. The Honda City will come with a petrol and, for the first time, a diesel engine too. The petrol motor is mated to a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox while the diesel comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new Honda City gets a large, five-inch multi-function screen that takes care of all the audio functions. The instrument cluster consists of three round dials. Steering-mounted controls are also on offer in the Honda City. There is a unique touch panel on offer for all the air-con controls and looks pretty high-tech and upmarket. The 1.5-litre Earth Dreams diesel Honda City is good for 98.6bhp. The new Honda City diesel engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol motor is a 1.5-litre unit good for 118bhp. The 8-speaker sound system with with USB, aux-in inputs and a CD player along with screen that doubles up as a reverse camera display. The new Honda City gets generous interior space thanks to clever packaging by Honda. Rear legroom up by 60mm and knee-room up by 70mm. Rear seat also gets an armrest with cup holders. The all-new interiors with richer plastics, a piano black finish and sturdy vents on top of the dash. The new Honda City (Code: 2CT) is built on the same platform as the upcoming new-generation Honda Jazz. The new Honda City features keyless go. New Honda City comes with rear air-con vents. A multi-information display sits on the right of the instrument cluster. Boot space stands at a good 510 litres. Also on offer is cruise control and four charging sockets in addition to the usual list of equipment. The Honda City is also offered with a sunroof for higher variants.
