BMW will launch the X7, its range-topping SUV in 2018. Veiled photos of the three-row SUV indicate it to be substantially bigger than the X5. However design and technical details of the X7 remain under wraps.
What is known is that the X7 will share underpinnings and engines with the latest 7-series that was recently launched in India. The list of engines includes a V12 which will debut in the X range.
The X7 is also speculated to sport a more luxurious interior than in the latest 7-series. Moreover, the SUV will reportedly gain an ultra-luxurious variant later during the model’s life cycle that will lose the third row of seats. It will be turned into a four-seater with dedicated ventilation, heating, and massaging functions for each passenger. There’s also going to be a rear-seat entertainment system and a full-length centre console to differentiate it from the seven-seat X7.
BMW’s X-range flagship will be assembled in South Carolina, United States at the Spartanburg factory. While the model is not expected to hit the roads before 2018, a preview concept is expected sometime this year.
