The Datsun Go will enter a space that is already hotly contested and the carmaker has promised a sub-Rs 4 lakh price tag.

We've finally gotten confirmation that the Datsun Go hatchback will launch in India on March 19. The first product from Nissan's budget brand was first revealed last year in Delhi and since, has been shown at the Auto Expo. The carmaker also embarked on a country-wide journey to showcase the new small car to the public some time back.

The Datsun Go will enter a space that is already hotly contested and the carmaker has promised a sub-Rs 4 lakh price tag. Its rivals include the popular Maruti Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon. The Datsun does offer the most space and power among these and this could prove crucial for Datsun's comeback.

The carmaker has also revealed plans to enter the Russian market with a new sedan which will be globally unveiled on April 4.
