Jeep Grand Cherokee, Wrangler petrol launch next month
As reported earlier, Jeep will debut its petrol-powered range in India next month. The SUV-maker currently sells the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler SUVs, both with diesel engines.

The Jeep Wrangler petrol, like its diesel sibling, will come only in the five-door Unlimited body style. The petrol-powered Wrangler will come with a 3.6-litre V6 engine good for 285hp and 353Nm of torque mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, while the Grand Cherokee petrol will get the same engine with more power, rated at 395hp mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Both the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler petrol will get similar equipment and features as their diesel counterparts.

The big news is, the petrol-powered Grand Cherokee is likely to be priced around Rs 15 lakh cheaper than the diesel. This means it could well be the cheapest Grand Cherokee model you could buy in India. Also, the Wrangler petrol will likely be priced a whopping Rs 18-20 lakh lower than its diesel model.

The Grand Cherokee diesel range starts from Rs 93.64 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.03 crore. Jeep sells the high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT powered by a Hemi V8 motor, it is priced at Rs 1.12 crore. Jeep Wrangler diesel is priced at Rs 71.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
