Aprilia has launched the updated standard SR150 at Rs 70,031. The new SR150 Carbon and SR150 Race, meanwhile, are priced at Rs 73,500 and Rs 80,211 (all prices ex-showroom, Pune). While the SR150 has always been one of the best-performing scooters in India, it wasn't up to the mark in terms of features. Aprilia, however, has addressed that issue with the addition of features on the new model.
The new SR150 gets new colours (blue and grey, like on the SR125) and revised graphics. The Race also gets new colours and graphics along with a large windscreen and the addition of the phone connectivity feature. The new SR150 Carbon is a limited-edition model that uses carbon-fibre imitating detailing on the bodywork.
All three scooters get the new digi-analogue instrument cluster that features a digital display for the fuel gauge, odometer, and trip meter; the speedo, however, is still an analogue unit. The scooters also get USB charging ports under the seat. The SR150 continues with the same-sized 120/70 R14 tyres (front and rear), but with a different tread pattern. While the scooters displayed were equipped with Vee Rubber-branded tyres, the company will soon shift to MRF.
Powering the SR150 is a 154cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor that produces 10.06hp and 10.9Nm of torque. Braking duties are carried out by the same setup as before – a 220mm disc up front and a 140mm drum at the rear. The monoshock on the scooter, however, is now preload-adjustable. The fuel tank capacity is the same at 6.5 litres.
