As part of a massive launch spree by Motoroyale, the new Hyosung GT250R has launched in India at Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch marks the re-introduction of Hyosung bikes in India after the Korean brand had parted ways with DSK earlier this year.
The fully-faired bike is powered by a 249cc, V-twin oil-cooled engine that features eight valves and dual overhead camshafts. 28hp at 10,000rpm and 22Nm at 7,000rpm is sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.
Suspension duties on the GT250R are carried out by a 43mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock with adjustable pre-load at the rear, while 300mm double discs at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear provide stopping power in conjunction with an ABS unit. The 17-inch front and rear wheels are shod in 110/70 and 150/70 tyres, respectively.
Weighing in at 188kg, the GT250R stands 160mm above the ground and comes with a 17-litre fuel tank.
In terms of its competition, the 250cc Hyosung takes on the KTM RC200, Kawasaki’s Ninja 300 and Honda’s CBR250R.
