Indian Motorcycle has launched its most expensive offering in India, the Roadmaster Elite, priced at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The higher asking price (about Rs 10 lakh over the standard Roadmaster) is thanks to the bespoke two-tone, blue-and-black colour option that takes a claimed 30 hours to complete and a tank insignia that is painted in 23-karat gold leaf.

The motorcycle has the same 1,811cc, ‘Thunder Stroke 111’ V-twin engine that powers the Roadmaster, making 161.6Nm of peak torque at 3,000rpm. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork and a monoshock, while dual-300mm discs up front and a single 300mm disc at the rear handle the braking duties. It tips the scales at 433kg – a consequence of the number of features on offer.

Besides its extravagant features, the flagship cruiser gets all-LED lights like the regular Roadmaster, a significant amount of chrome detailing on the front and rear fenders and a 300W audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. A part of Indian’s Touring range, the Roadmaster Elite is also equipped with features like an adjustable windscreen and floorboards, heated seats, cruise control, a waterproof saddlebag and a waterproof trunk with a storage capacity of more than 140 litres of luggage.

In terms of rivals, the Roadmaster Elite is a direct competitor to the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited, which carries a price tag of Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
