TVS has launched the updated RTR 180 and RTR 180 ABS at Rs 84,578 and Rs 95,392 (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). For 2019, the bikes feature a new colour scheme, different seat material, white back-lit speedometer and a redesigned crash guard.
While the RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V feature the updated Apache design language, the RTR continues with the older styling. The RTR 180 now features redesigned graphics which are a lot more minimalistic than the ones on the RTR 180 race edition that was launched back in May 2018. TVS has also updated the instrument cluster with a new white back-lit speedometer. At present, the RTR 180 features a tachometer with a white face and a blue back-lit speedometer.
The 2019 Apache RTR 180 also features a redesigned crash guard which features sliders on them. Perhaps the logic behind them is that they will be easier to replace than the entire crash guard. For 2019, the bike remains mechanically identical to the current bike. It uses the same petal disc brakes (270mm front/200mm rear) that can be optioned with dual-channel ABS. The bike continues to feature a double cradle frame, telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers.
Powering the bike is the 177cc, 2-valve, air-cooled engine that makes 16.3hp at 8,500rpm and 15.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. TVS has claimed a top speed of 114kph.
TVS also introduced an all-new version of the RTR 160 this year called the RTR 160 4V, it features an updated frame, monoshock and an all-new 4-valve, 159.7cc motor that, on the fuel-injected model, makes 16.8hp at 8,000rpm and 14.8Nm at 6,500rpm. The 160 4V is priced at Rs 91,810 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the FI model. However, it does miss out on ABS which is an option on the RTR 180.
