MV Agusta has revealed the 2021 Turismo Veloce range that features a raft of updates over the previous motorcycle. Available in four trims – Lusso, Lusso SCS, RC SCS, and Rosso – the Turismo Veloce features updates such as a Euro-5 compliant engine, reworked engine internals, IMU based electronics and more.

  • Turismo Veloce RC SCS limited to 1,500 units only

  • Euro-5 engine offers stronger midrange grunt

  • Taller windscreen and lower, softer seat for improved comfort

2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce: engine

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is powered by a Euro-5 compliant 798cc inline-triple engine that makes 110hp and has a counter rotating crankshaft. The engine has undergone a number of updates to make it smoother and responsive than ever before. To begin with, the engine features DLC-coated valve tappets, sintered valve guides, new fuel injectors and revised exhaust collector system. The bottom-half of the engine gets new crankshaft main bearings, piston rod bearings and countershaft bearings for reduced friction.

Then there's the new intake funnels for better low and midrange. The gearing has also been reworked to keep the engine spinning at lower revs while cruising at highway speeds. Speaking of gears, the 2021 Turismo Veloce gets an updated bi-directional quickshifter to make light work of shifting the 6-speed gearbox up and down.

The Turismo Veloce range gets a new 6-axis IMU-assisted electronics suite and that brings with it a bigger safety net in the form of lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. The ride modes temper the power delivery and TC settings to suit the road conditions, and all of the settings can be accessed via the new 5.5-inch TFT display. It features Bluetooth connectivity as well, allowing the rider to pair a smartphone via the MV Ride App. The app can record and share your ride route and also display turn-by-turn navigation on the TFT screen – a nifty feature for a sport touring machine. In addition, the motorcycle also comes with a satellite tracker that allows the owner to trace the location of the motorcycle, in case it gets stolen.

2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce: design and variants

MV Agusta has retained the gorgeous lines of the Turismo Veloce for the 2021 range, and it still remains one of the most stunning sport tourers when it comes to design. In fact, the new colours, specific to each variant, only enhance the looks of the Turismo Veloce. The Reparto Corse colour is the one that stands out the most, inspired by the paint scheme of MV Agusta's racing division.

The only minor difference between the previous model and the new one is the taller windscreen.  It is said to offer much better protection against head-on wind, thereby minimising chances of helmet buffeting while riding at high speeds. The seat height has also been dropped by 20mm, by redesigning the central section, while the foam density has been tweaked for improved comfort over long distances.

Moving on to the variants, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Rosso is the base variant and if you haven't guessed it already, it is only available in a glimmering shade of red. Since it is the base variant – unlike the Lusso, Lusso SCS and RC SCS that get Sachs semi-active suspension – it makes do with manually adjustable units. It also doesn't get a centre stand and heated grips that are standard on the higher models.

For those wondering what SCS stands for, it is the Smart Clutch System that essentially eliminates the need for a clutch lever to change gears or even while starting off from a stop. The SCS models are also offered with panniers as standard, while the same is available as an option on the Turismo Veloce Rosso and Lusso.
