2021 Triumph Street Scrambler: updates & pricing

Earlier this year, Triumph updated its 900cc Street Scrambler, with the addition of an LED headlight, and other cosmetic updates like a new brushed aluminium headlight bracket and new throttle body finishers, to name a few. Triumph also gave the Street Scrambler new colour schemes, and the bike now comes in two single-tone options or one dual-tone paint scheme.

It was unveiled alongside a special Sandstorm Edition, which went on sale at Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and now, the standard Street Scrambler has also been launched at Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The BS4 version of the Street Scrambler was previously on sale at Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom), so this updated bike is a rather hefty Rs 80,000 more expensive.

2021 Triumph Street Scrambler: engine & underpinnings

Despite being kinder to the environment, the 900cc parallel-twin engine continues to produce the same 65hp at 7,250rpm and 80Nm of torque at 3,250rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox and chain drive, and electronics are also unchanged, with switchable ABS and traction control, as well as three ride modes – Road, Rain and Off-road.

Holding everything together is a twin-cradle frame suspended on a non-adjustable 41mm fork, and twin preload-adjustable shocks. The bike rides on a 19-inch/17-inch wire-spoke wheel combo, with Metzeler Tourance tyres, and seat height is a pretty accessible 790mm.

2021 Triumph Street Scrambler: competition

The most direct rival to the Street Scrambler is the Ducati Scrambler 800 range, which starts at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 8.49 lakh. These bikes sport slightly smaller engines but are more powerful, though down on torque compared to the Street Scrambler.
