The KTM 390 Adventure has received its first update since its launch with a few new features coming next year.

  • Two modes for traction control
  • New alloys and new colours
  • No mechanical changes

The KTM 390 Adventure now has two modes for its traction control (TC) system. Street mode offers normal levels of intervention while off-road mode allows for some level of rear wheel slip before reigning in the power.

The updated electronics will also ensure that the bike will remain in off-road TC mode in case of a brief fall or stall. This was a previous annoyance where the bike would revert to standard TC mode even if the rider briefly stalled the bike off-road and the TC was turned off. However, it is unclear as of now whether the updated system will turn the TC back on after a stall/fall if the rider has turned it completely off.

The 2022 model also gets a new alloy wheel design with 10 spokes instead of the earlier 12. KTM says that this new design has resulted in a stronger construction. The 390 Adventure will be available in two new colours, including a new Blue/Orange scheme inspired by the company’s GP race bikes.

Mechanically, the KTM 390 Adventure continues as before, with a tubular steel trellis frame and a 43hp, 37Nm, liquid-cooled 373.4cc engine.

The 2022 KTM 250 Adventure will also get the new alloy wheel design and the two new colour schemes for next year. Expect both models to be launched in India soon.
