The launch of the 2023 Triumph Street Triple line-up has been delayed by quite a few months in India, but it appears that the bikes will soon be making their Indian debut, on June 16. According to sources, the R variant will be priced around the Rs 10 lakh-10.30 lakh mark, while the RS will be priced around the Rs 11.60 lakh-12 mark. This marks an increase in prices between Rs 50,000-1 lakh, depending on the variant.
The updated Triumph Street Triple R’s liquid-cooled, 765cc three-cylinder engine makes 120hp, while, in the Street Triple RS, this motor develops 130hp. Power has gone up by 2hp on the R and 7hp on the RS although peak torque remains the same at 80Nm. Both variants also get an up/down quickshifter as standard on the 6-speed gearbox.
Moving to the electronics, the bike finally gets IMU-assisted cornering ABS and traction control. The Street Triple R now features four ride modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Rider (fully configurable). The RS, on the other hand, also has an additional Track mode. All the settings for the electronics can be accessed via a 5-inch, colour TFT display on the RS, while the R makes do with a more basic, LCD display. The chassis on this new bike has been comprehensively revised and to read more about how the bikes fared on the track and on the road, click here.
