The Yezdi and Jawa line-up has received a number of incremental yet important changes for the 2023 model year. Here are 5 key points you need to know.

OBD-2 compliance

In accordance with the government’s guidelines, all new two-wheelers sold after April 1, 2023, have to be compliant with the more stringent OBD-2 emissions norms and Classic Legends has updated all the models across both brands to do so. Notably, there hasn’t been a change to the peak output figures on any bike.

Engine changes

Both the Yezdi and Jawa lineups have received reworked engine components to improve NVH levels. Along with these updates, a larger throttle body, exhaust ports, and revised engine mapping have also been implemented. These updates should, in theory, make the bikes more refined as well as a tad quieter.

Jawa 42 gets mechanical and electronic updates

The Jawa 42 has now been equipped with an assist and slip clutch, which should ensure the rear wheel doesn’t lock up or ‘hop’, while downshifting aggressively. Additionally, the pull at the lever should be lighter now. The Jawa 42 also gets redesigned exhaust mufflers for what the company claims are a ‘better’ exhaust note.

Replacing the dated analogue display on the 42 is a digital LCD dash and the bike also comes standard with a hazard light switch now.

Yezdis get a larger rear sprocket, redesigned exhaust mufflers

Much like the 42, the entire Yezdi model range now gets redesigned exhaust mufflers also. A change that's unique to just the Yezdi line-up is that all three models now get a larger rear sprocket which should help with the better bottom-end drive and improve tractability as well.

Prices hiked

Spec for spec, price hikes for each model range from Rs 2,000-Rs 6,000. You can take a closer look at the prices by clicking here.
