EXCLUSIVE
Last time around, Aprilia made a splash with the unveil of the SR 150 scooter. Now, the marque has pulled the covers off a brace of equally exciting 150s at the Auto Expo 2018 – the RS 150 and the Tuono 150.
As the names suggest, these are, in terms of styling, scaled-down versions of Aprilia's superbike and its naked twin. Both bikes are mechanically identical and are are powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 150cc motor putting out 18hp at 10,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 7,500rpm.
Suspension duties on both are handled by a 40mm USD fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Their 17-inch wheels are equipped with a 300mm disc up front and a 218mm disc at the back. ABS is standard, and a quick shifter will be available as an accessory.
Going by the sheer amount of tech on offer, both the RS 150 and the Tuono 150 could be pegged at the premium end of the 150cc segment, but going by how Aprilia priced the SR 150 aggressively, we wouldn't be surprised to see the same being done with these bikes.
Aprilia says that there are no plans to launch them anytime soon, but you can expect to see them on the market late this year or early next year.
