Just a few days ago, Ather Energy installed its 1,000th Grid fast-charging station in India, and now the company has announced that it plans to increase that number to over 2,500 by the end of this year. At present, 60 percent of these chargers are spread out across Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Ather Grid fast-charging network to expand: details

Back in October, we reported that Ather has 580 Grid fast-chargers operational and that number is set to increase to 1,400 by the end of FY23. While the company has been busy ramping up its fast charging network, it has announced that the number of Grid fast-chargers will increase to 2,500 by the end of 2023. This will be a significant step in encouraging more people to adopt the Ather electric scooter as more and more charging stations become available.

Hero MotoCorp, which is a significant investor in Ather, has also taken advantage of the Bengaluru-based start-up's widespread fast-charging network. It has equipped its e-scooter, the Vida V1, with the same open-sourced connector design as Ather's, with a fast-charging capability of 1.2km/min. This means that Vida V1 owners can effectively plug their scooters into Ather’s fast-charging network. This is slightly slower than Ather’s own e-scooters which can charge at the rate of 1.5km/min.

Recently, the company revealed its updated 450X e-scooter and you can read all about it here.
