There are some very interesting things on the horizon for Bajaj: the unveiling of the first Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle is just around the corner, and its partnership with KTM is on the verge of spawning the next-gen Duke models.
With all this going on, it’s easy to forget about Bajaj’s own line-up, but there are definitely new things coming there as well. The company is in the process of updating its popular Pulsar line-up to the next generation, and its involvement in electric mobility is only going to grow with time.
As it often does, Bajaj has trademarked a couple of new nametags that could feature on upcoming models. Last time around, it trademarked the names Aura, Hammer and Racer, and this time, it’s the Bajaj Swing and Bajaj Genie. Can these end up on products that sway customers from other brands, or grant buyers their wishes? Only time will tell.
Going by the names, they seem more likely to feature on upcoming scooters than on motorcycles. And since this is Bajaj we’re talking about, the scooters are more likely to be electric than petrol-powered. At the moment, Bajaj’s only e-scooter offering is the rather likeable and stylish Chetak, and this line-up will only grow as electric mobility penetration increases. Another possibility is that these names could be used for three-wheelers, a segment in which Bajaj enjoys a healthy market share of over 50 percent.
