Following the launch of the KTM 390 Adventure, the company is all set to launch the BS6 versions of the 390 Duke and RC 390. Both motorcycles are among the bestsellers for KTM in India, especially in case of the 390 Duke. We now have information that the BS6 390 Duke will be distinguished from its race-oriented sibling, the RC 390, by means of more equipment.
The BS6 KTM 390 Duke will get a quickshifter as standard, similar to what we see in the new KTM 390 Adventure. The additional equipment, as well as the upgrade to BS6, is expected to bump up the price by Rs 10,000. Strangely, the BS6 KTM RC 390 will not get a quickshifter and that automatically makes the new 390 Duke more expensive than the RC. However, we do think that a quickshifter would have been great in the RC 390 as well, given that it is a potent track tool.
Also, post the price hike, the 390 Duke sits tantalisingly close to the 390 Adventure, with the gap going down to Rs 41,000. For the extra money, you also get traction control, in addition to other ADV specific bits.
Speaking of the KTM 390 Adventure, we are riding the bike today and the review will be out soon. Stay tuned to know more.
