The TVS Motor Company has raised the prices of the BS6 Jupiter range in India by Rs 1,040, which means the model will now be available at a starting price of Rs 63,102. The ZX variant is priced at Rs 65,102, while the top-spec Classic variant will set you back by Rs 69,602.
This is the second price hike that we’ve seen after the BS6 TVS Jupiter was launched, the last one was in the month of June 2020. Back then, the price hike was a shade over Rs 600, but this time around it is nearly double of that. It goes to show that the BS6 updates have resulted in increased input costs in manufacturing scooters, and that the burden has to be passed on to the customer. In fact, in recent months, we’ve seen a similar round of price hikes by other two-wheeler manufacturers as well.
Besides the price hike, there are no changes to the BS6 TVS Jupiter. To reiterate, the BS6 TVS Jupiter is powered by a 110cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 7.3hp and 8.4Nm of torque. It gets TVS’ ET-Fi (Eco Thrust Fuel Injection) system and TVS claims the new engine delivers 15 percent higher fuel economy. The Classic variant gets a USB charger, tinted visor and a backrest as standard.
In other news, TVS just launched the BS6 Scooty Zest in India at Rs 58,640 and you can read all about it here.
