The latest new bike to be shown at the Ducati World Premiere 2022 is the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, which is a sportier, more road-focused version of the Multistrada V4 S.
Gets Ohlins semi-active suspension
170hp, 125Nm from 1,158cc V4 engine
Now features Race mode, updated electronics
Having unleashed the Multistrada V4 on us earlier this year, Ducati has now upped the ante and rolled out a sportier, more road-focused version of its adventure tourer, called the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. Since it has no real off-roading intentions, it has ditched the 19-inch front wheel and now rolls on 17-inch alloys at both ends. The Skyhook Marzocchi suspension has been replaced by Ohlins units, which are also of the semi-active, electronic kind, but feature shorter travel.
While the 1,158cc Granturismo V4 engine continues to make 175hp and 125Nm in the Pikes Peak, Ducati has managed to shave 4.4kg off the Multistrada V4 S’s kerb weight.
The electronics have been updated to accommodate the new suspension and geometry with this version of the Multistrada also gaining a Race mode in place of the standard V4’s Enduro mode. The other three riding modes – Sport, Touring and Urban – have been carried over too, but tweaked for the Pikes Peak. There’s lean-sensitive ABS on offer and the Pikes Peak uses Brembo Stylema calipers up front, just like the bike it’s based on.
The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak will be priced at 28,995 USD (Rs 21.6 lakh) in the United States, with deliveries slated to begin in February 2022.
