Ducati is set to celebrate 71 years of Indian independence by putting together a group ride from dealerships across the country. Despite being called the 'Scrambler Independence Rumble', it is open to all Ducati bike owners and will start at 6AM. The bike maker plans to raise funds through this ride and send the proceeds to the Lotus Petal foundation – an NGO that offers better education for underprivileged children.
Speaking about this ride, Sergi Canovas, MD of Ducati India, said, “Education is independence and we want to give back to the society we live in. Through these rides, we endeavour to create awareness and help young children receive quality education with the support of Ducatisti across the country. I am confident that our first ride will be full of biking enthusiasts carrying the Indian Flag high and participate in this ride of joy, nostalgia, freedom, peace, love and nobility celebrating the spirit of Nationalism and making a difference.”
Kushal Raj Chakravorty, Founder, Lotus Petal Foundation said, “Lotus Petal is deeply committed to providing a life of dignity to the children living in the urban slums of Gurgaon, India. Our methods to bring about transformation are contemporary and deeply rooted in quality education within classrooms.”
In other news, Ducati will be hosting the first edition of Ducati Ride Experience – Off-Road Days in India on August 4-5, 2018. The DRE – Off Road Days event will be held at the Off-Road Adventure Zone (ORAZ) circuit in Gurugram and is open to both Ducati and non-Ducati owners.
