As you may well know by now, the latest IRDA regulation makes it mandatory for all two-wheelers sold after September 1, 2018 to come with five-year third-party insurance. As a result, two-wheeler prices have risen across the board – and in some cases, quite significantly. After we brought you the latest Bajaj, Honda, Royal Enfield and TVS price lists post this ruling, we now have Hero’s updated price tags for you. This list includes the new insurance costs (One-year comprehensive + four-year third-party insurance) for the company’s bikes and scooters.
On a motorcycle like the HF Deluxe (spoked wheels) which has an ex-showroom cost of Rs 38,900, the insurance cost is now Rs 5,531. This means that you end up paying 14.2 percent of the motorcycle’s ex-showroom cost as insurance, alone. In addition to this, adding another Rs 7,412 in RTO costs brings the total on-road cost for Hero’s most-affordable offering to Rs 52,093.
Meanwhile, the insurance cost for the newly-launched Xtreme 200R is Rs 9,494, taking the total on-road cost for the motorcycle to Rs 1.13 lakh.
All prices, on-road Mumbai.
