Hero MotoCorp is gearing towards a gradual resumption of operations by starting production at all its six manufacturing plants in India from today.

  • Hero’s top priority is to vaccinate its employees

  • The Haridwar plant has the highest manufacturing capacity

The company had already commenced single-shift production at three of its plants – Gurgaon and Dharuhera in Haryana and at Haridwar in the northern hill state of Uttarakhand – from May 17.

Three other plants – Neemrana in Rajasthan, Halol in Gujarat and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, will also start single-shift operations from May 24. The Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Neemrana will also be operational from the same day.

The Andhra Pradesh plant, located in the Chittoor district, is the youngest and began operations in March 2020. Developed over a 600-acre site, it will have an annual installed capacity of 1.8 million units, which will be achieved in three phases. Hero’s combined installed production capacity currently is the highest in the country. The company has two assembly plants overseas: one each in Colombia and Bangladesh.
