We had recently uncovered type-approval documents filed by Hero MotoCorp which indicated that the Xpulse 200 4V was due to get the Rally Kit option. Now, Hero has taken the wraps off the optional off-road-focused kit, priced at Rs 46,000. While Hero has revealed the Rally Kit’s pricing, customers will have to wait a while before they can get their hands on it.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Kit: off-road biased parts

Hero has equipped the Rally Kit with some seriously capable off-road componentry. At the front, there is a preload-adjustable cartridge-style fork with a whopping 250mm of travel, while the preload-adjustable rear monoshock has 220mm. Complementing these figures is the massive 275mm of ground clearance on offer. Keeping the bike upright after all these changes is a taller side-stand as well.

To aid better control off-road, there is a flatter and significantly taller bench-style seat, and for when you ride standing up, taller risers for better ergonomics and an extended gear lever to help shift gears. It also sports Maxxis tyres which come with a block-shaped tread pattern to provide better traction in low-grip scenarios.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Kit: familiar underpinnings

The Xpulse 200 4V Rally Kit is powered by the same single-cylinder air-and-oil-cooled engine, which was also recently updated with a four-valve head to improve performance and rideability, especially when paired with the shorter gearing. The 199.6cc engine makes 19.1hp at 8,500rpm and 17.35Nm at 6,500rpm, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The same basic chassis, as well as brake components, continue to do duty here, with a 276mm front disc and a 220mm rear unit, paired to a single-channel ABS unit. The fuel tank too continues with a 13-litre capacity. As is commonplace with off-road machines, the Xpulse gets proper off-road sized spoked rims with a 90/90-21 at the front and a 120/80-18 at the rear.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Kit: Price

The Rally Kit for the Hero Xpulse 200 4V costs an additional Rs 46,000 over the Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom) base price of the standard bike. When the Rally Kit was launched for the earlier two-valve Xpulse 200, each of the three aforementioned kits (suspension, ergonomics and tyres) were available individually for purchase. This will continue with the Xpulse 200 4V, but pricing for these will be rolled out in the coming months

All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
