Honda recently updated its immensely popular Activa 6G line-up (making it slightly more expensive in the process) and introduced a new range-topping H-Smart variant with an electronic key fob. Now, from an image on the manufacturer’s official website, it seems the larger Activa 125 will be receiving a similar overhaul soon.
Honda Activa 125 H-Smart: what will be new?
Much like the Activa 6G, the Honda Activa 125 H-Smart is likely to get an electronic key fob that brings in a bunch of electronic features, some of which are similar to that of a car. The SmartFind feature allows you to locate your vehicle by flashing all four indicators at the press of a button. The SmartStart feature allows you to start the scooter by just flipping the switch located where the key slot would be found normally.
Then there's the SmartUnlock feature that allows you to unlock the handlebar, the fuel filler cap and the under-seat storage unit with the use of the key fob. The SmartSafe feature shuts off the keyless functionality of the fob, thereby locking the vehicle and aiding safety.
In the same image, alongside these changes, it can be seen that the digital inset in the dash will also get updated and will be capable of displaying relevant fuel-efficiency data such as real-time mileage, average mileage and distance to empty.
Currently, the Activa 125 is available in three variants – Drum (Rs 77,743), Drum alloy (Rs 81,411) and Disc (Rs. 84,916). It's unclear whether Honda will introduce an additional variant to the Activa 125 line-up specifically for this feature as it did with the Activa 6G, or it will simply update the range-topping Disc variant with this feature. Expect prices of the Honda Activa 125 to go up once this feature is added.
